Ning and Tian are two boys living in a Country ruled by an authoritarian regime.
Their friendship was born among the school desks and strengthened over the years as they shared many experiences with moments of joy and difficulty. Their bond is very close and they consider themselves brothers. However, their paths begin to take different directions when Ning comes into contact with sources of information that elude the iron censorship of the Country in which they live. From that moment, he begins to reflect on the conditions that he and the people around him live in and he becomes convinced that they are chained to a false system. He shows the first signs of intolerance towards the place where he grew up. Through all of this, the only firm point that remains true for Ning, is his friendship with Tian and so he entrusts him with his reflections. In reality, the paths of the two protagonists are begin to separate irreversibly. Ning’s introspection leads him to mature, with the desire to leave his land and seek elsewhere the freedom he has realized he lacks. However, Tian, as the son of a military family, enjoys great privileges that he does not intend to leave: he joins the army and begins to have moments of gratification that exalt him. But he knows he is a tool piloted by the regime, so he fears that one day this will force him to reveal the escape plan of his friend Ning. So he begins to watch him closely, waiting for his mistake to betray him. Ning sets off: he decides with difficulty to leave everything behind, but waiting for him while crossing the border is Tian, who is aware of his plan and is there to kill him. His lifelong friend is now just a traitor to his country. However, when they are face to face, he cannot shoot him; their friendship remains stronger...
